Armed Robbery

There has been some shocking news recently on the EPT Berlin, the tournament came to a standstill as an armed robbery took place in the casino, there appeared to be six men who raided the casino, two of the got close the the tournament room however guards in the casino managed to old them back, however one of the robber supposedly broke free of the security guard and ran towards the room filled with players.

The media managed to barricade the doors in the tournament room so that nobody was able to enter, tables were turned over for guards because the armed robbers supposedly were carrying guns with them with chips scattered all over the floor. It has not been confirmed yet but the speculation is that the robbers left with a certain amount of euros.

Pokerstars released this statement:

“An armed robbery by six men took place today at EPT Berlin. Nobody was seriously injured. We hope to re-start all events at 4pm local time. A police investigation is underway. If you have video footage or photographs that could help the police, please contact the EPT organizers as soon as possible.”

The play continued several hours after the robbery and the players had to decide between themselves what they thought the stacks were because there were chips scattered across the tables in the tournament room.
